‘Arcane’ Renewed For Season 2 By Netflix

Fresh off a suspenseful Season 1 cliffhanger, Riot Games’ League of Legends animated series Arcane has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

Riot Games and Netflix unveiled the renewal Saturday during the two-day Undercity Nights events. Stars Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Katie Leung are set to reprise their roles in the sophomore season as Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn Kiramman, respectively. Season 2 is in production.

The series, which made its debut earlier in November, is set in the utopian region of League of Legends realms Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun.

Arcane, animated by Fortiche Productions, follows the origins of popular League champions sisters Jinx and Vi as they seek to reunite. Overcoming the world of Arcane is a dark power that brings on violence and chaos, and threatens to keep the sisters apart.

The series also features voice performances from Kevin Alejandro, Katie Leung, Jason Spisak, Toks Olagundoye, JB Blanc and Harry Lloyd.

Ella Purnell Joins Voice Cast of Netflix’s ‘Arcane’

Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Dickinson), Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Army of the Dead) and Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer, The Returned) are among the actors who will lend their voices to the iconic characters of Riot Games’ League of Legends.

Netflix has unveiled the voice cast for its upcoming animated series Arcane, inspired by the wildly popular video game title. Also joining the voice cast Katie Leung (Annika, Roadkill), Jason Spisak (DC Super Hero Girls, Young Justice), Toks Olagundoye (Big Shot, The Rookie), JB Blanc (Dota: Dragon’s Blood, The Owl House) and Harry Lloyd (Brave New World, Legion).

Set to premiere this fall, Arcane takes place in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun. The series follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.

“Star Trek: Prodigy”: Ella Purnell joins voice cast

Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today introduced the stellar lineup of voice talent behind the six young alien starship crew members featured in its upcoming all-new animated kids’ series Star Trek: Prodigy. First look images of the series were also revealed.

‘Army of the Dead’: Netflix announces prequel film, Anime series

Zack Snyder’s new zombie action heist Netflix movie Army of the Dead won’t drop until next year, but the streamer, in a unique move, has already greenlit a prequel feature and spin-off anime series.

Army of the Dead follows the aftermath of a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, and the group of mercenaries who venture into the quarantine zone to pull off a big heist. The pic has an all-star international cast including Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Tig Notaro, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, and Samantha Win.

The anime series, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, chronicles the origin story of Scott (Dave Bautista) and his rescue crew during the initial fall of Vegas as they confront the mysterious source of the zombie outbreak. Zack Snyder will direct two episodes of the anime series. Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series Trese) will be showrunning as well as directing two episodes of the series. The series will be executive produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Wesley Coller from The Stone Quarry alongside Jay Olivia and Shay Hatten. De la Reguera, Notaro, Hardwick and Purnell will reprise their feature roles in the anime series.
